Achi powder can be made into a soup on its own or used as a thickener for other soups , it's an excellent source of anti-oxidant and it’s rich in vitamins. In Yoruba land it is known as Eku or Akalado, the Ijaws call it Apaupan or Akpakpa and in Edo state it is known as Dewen. Achi adds a unique flavor to soups and it contains carbohydrates and protein. It is grown mainly in central and south eastern region of Nigeria
